Notes from Nancy

I'm totally new at this, but it seems like fun and the in thing to do. I thought I might just make notes about what I'm thinking and what's going on in the lives of me and the kids, and maybe stay in touch with folks that way.

I just came from Barnes and Noble with Lisa (my friend and neighbor, who introduced me to the possibility of a blog). It was a good and encouraging way to end a very busy day. I mean, what's better than a good hot chocolate, yes to the whipped cream, a cooking magazine and a good friend. Oh yes, with Cold Play in the background.

I've been thinking about Advent; actually I was sort of jerked short the other day, realizing that I was feeling totally disengaged from the reality and truth of this season of the year. Kinda just caught up in the shopping frenzy, complaining about lack of funds, etc. Thank God for Martin Smith and his brilliant words in Nativities and Passions. God, in the flesh, is offered to us--to hold, to touch, to embrace. I want to re-experience it.
